Medicinal Causes of Male Impotency

Medicinal Causes of Male
Impotency

There are many factors that
can affect a man’s ability to achieve, or achieve and maintain, an
erection sufficient for pleasurable sexual activity, a condition known
as Male Impotency or Erectile Dysfunction. Some of these factors are
the natural aging process, anxiety, depression, or other psychological
factors, diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, low testosterone levels,
spinal cord or nerve damage, and cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis.
Other factors include cigarette smoking and substance abuse, however
impotency can also be a side effect of taking certain medications.

Impotency is a side effect
of many common medications, including some used to treat depression,
anxiety, obesity, allergies and high blood pressure, among other ailments.
Some treatments for high blood pressure, angina, and irregular heart
rhythms known to contribute to male impotency are propranolol, hydrochlorothiazide,
digoxin, and verapamil. Medications prescribed for ulcers, reflux diseases,
and heartburn, including famotidine, cimetidine, and metoclopramide
also contribute to erectile dysfunction. Other medicines such as indomethacin
(used for treating arthritis, bursitis, and tendonitis), gemfibrozil
(used for correcting cholesterol levels), amitriptyline (antidepressant),
litium (used for treating depression and bipolar disorders) and phenytoin
(anti-seizure medication) have been proven to increase male impotency.

When experiencing erectile
dysfunction
, it is important to understand the possible causes of the
disorder so that behaviors, such as taking certain medications, can
be modified if they are identified as contributing factors. Men suffering
with impotency, and who are being treated for other illnesses or conditions,
should review all of their medications to exclude the possibility of
adverse side effects and interactions. Another possible remedy for such
interactions is an herbal supplement for one or more of the conditions
being treated.

An excellent alternative to
conventional medicine, which has proven extremely effective in treating
male impotence
, is the ProSolution Pill System. The patented formula
contains natural ingredients that improve circulation and blood flow,
increase testosterone production and levels, and enhance sperm quality
and motility. These specific ingredients combined result in more rigid
and long-lasting erections, enhanced penis girth and length, and increased
sperm volume
, making it the ideal natural treatment for erectile dysfunction.

Peyronie’s Disease and The SizeGenetics System

Peyronie’s Disease and The SizeGenetics System

There are many conditions and diseases that can affect a man’s sexual health,
including function and fertility. In addition to the more well known
maladies such as impotency, infertility, and cancers, males can suffer
with priapism (persistent, prolonged, and painful erections not
associated with sexual activity), balanitis (inflammation of the skin
on the head of the penis), balanoposthitis (inflammation of the
foreskin and head of the penis), phimosis (excessively tight foreskin,
so that the head of the penis cannot be revealed), paraphimosis (when
the foreskin prevents the penis from retracting once flaccid), and
Peyronie’s Disease.

Peyronie’s Disease first appeared in medical texts in 1743 written
by French surgeon Francois de la Peyronie. About 1% of all men are estimated
to be afflicted with the condition, and the exact cause of the disease
is unknown. Peyronie’s can affect men in varying degrees, from a quick
onset coupled with a short duration of symptoms, and no need for
treatment to long-term indications resulting in disfigurement of the
penis, which prohibits sexual activity and required surgery. It is a
condition in which benign, or non-cancerous, plaque forms in erectile
tissue layers on the upper or lower side of the penis, and creates a
bend in the penis. In rare cases, plaque can form on both the top and
the bottom of the penis, resulting in a shortening of the penis. The
severity of the condition determines the medical course of action (or
inaction, in short-lived cases).

There are two types of treatment for Peyronie’s Disease for those
cases where treatment is required; non-surgical and surgical. Surgical
treatments are usually reserved for severe cases where sexual activity
is completely impossible due to the symptoms of the condition. Most
physicians recommend surgery only after waiting one or two years to
ensure the condition will not cure itself, as in most cases. There are
three surgical methods used to treat Peyronie’s. The first includes
removing the plaque after a skin graft is performed, which has been
proven to partially compromise normal erectile function. The second is
called the Nesbit procedure, where the tissue opposite the penile
curvature
is pinched or removed, negating the curve, however this
method has been shown to cause a shortening of the penis. In cases
where a man’s ability to achieve or maintain erections has been
affected by Peyronie’s, penile implants may be inserted surgically to
correct the problem, however tissue erosion and scar tissue formation,
as a result of the surgery, can further impair penile function.
Non-surgical treatments include medicine injected directly into the
plaque to soften the tissue and reverse the curve, and penile traction
devices
.

One natural and extremely effective treatment for Peyronie’s Disease is
The SizeGenetics System, a penile traction device proven to correct
penile curvatures
with no adverse side effects. The SizeGenetics
traction device
was developed by an Urologist and Andrologist, and has
been clinically tested to ensure its safety and efficacy. The device is
safe, comfortable, discreet, easy to use, and is highly recommended by
the medical community. With the SizeGenetics System, consumers receive one bottle of Volume Pills, (to increase sperm volume), ProSolution Pills (to
enhance erections and libido), and a membership to Penis Health (a
large, comprehensive web site containing extensive customer support,
exclusive penis exercises, and more), and a member forum (to gain
access to other SizeGenetics System users).

This week I will be posting updates on my current product tests of ProShape RX and Volume Pills. Check back soon for more information tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Why is Prostate Health Important?

Why is Prostate Health Important?

Knowledge is the first and
most important weapon in maintaining a healthy prostate, so it is important
to understand what the prostate gland is, what conditions are associated
with it, and the symptoms of an unhealthy prostate gland. The prostate
gland is a small walnut-sized organ in males that produces a liquid
component of semen
, which is the white fluid that contains sperm. The
prostate gland is located below the bladder, where urine is stored,
and surrounds the urethra, which is the tube that carries urine from
the bladder to the penis. This small gland is responsible for a great
portion of a man’s sexual health.

Having a healthy prostate can
prevent such issues as infections, impotence, erectile and other penile
dysfunctions
, and even cancer. Like any other body part, prostate health
can be influenced by genetics, the normal aging process, and hormonal
influences, as well as environmental elements such as chemicals and
toxins. However, prostate health can also be positively influenced by
diet and lifestyle choices. Scientific studies have shown that green
tea helps prevent prostate cancer growth in mice, and green tea extract
is reported to literally kill cancer cells and starve tumors of additional
flow necessary for them to grow.

Non-cancerous conditions of
the prostate gland can include the following: Benign prostatic hyperplasia
is an enlargement of the prostate gland, and is also known as benign
prostatic hypertrophy, nodular hyperplasia of the prostate, and is abbreviated
as BPH. When the gland enlarges, it can compress the urethra, slowing
the flow of urine, or in sever cases, stop the flow completely, causing
injury to the kidneys. Acute bacterial prostatitis is a bacterial
infection of the prostate, whose symptoms include fever, chills, painful
urination, and pain between the legs and in the lower back. Chronic
bacterial prostatitis
, is a recurring prostate infection, marked
by lower back pain, testicular pain, pain in the area between the anus
and penis (perineum), and sometimes painful and frequent urination,
if the infection spreads to the bladder. Nonbacterial prostatitis
is the most common, but least medically understood form of prostatitis,
and is often associated with other conditions, such as reactive arthritis.
Prostatodynia
is similar to nonbacterial prostatitis, and is usually
treated with anti-inflammatory drugs. More gravely, prostate cancer
is the second leading cause of death from cancer among American men.

The prostate gland is as important
to a man’s sexual health as a woman’s ovaries are to her sexual
health. This is why prostate health is so important. So, beginning at
age 40, or before if you have a family history of prostate cancer, have
yearly prostate exams. Or, if you experience any of the following symptoms,
you should contact your doctor immediately to ensure your prostate is
in good health. Frequent urge to urinate, difficult or painful urination,
dribbling of urine, complete inability to urinate, blood in semen, pain
with ejaculation, and tenderness or swelling in the testes, scrotum
or groin area are all signs that your prostate may need medical attention.

Volume Pills and Male Infertility

Since human sexual response
is a complex cycle composed of four phases, including excitement, plateau,
orgasm, and resolution, it is no surprise 31% of men and 43% of women
report some degree of sexual dysfunction. In some cases of sexual dysfunction,
the causes can be psychological and even subjective, depending on the
type and severity of the issue being experienced. Many individuals who
are suffering from sexual dysfunction may have an imbalance or deficiency
of certain hormones, proteins, vitamins, or minerals, essential to proper
sexual function, that are creating their malady.

When the phrase sexual dysfunction
is mentioned, one does not immediately think of male infertility, however
it is a form of sexual dysfunction, and one that affects millions of
men and couples. The primary causes of infertility in men are sperm
disorders, whether there is an issue with the health of the sperm, or
sperm motility (the percentage of all mobile, or moving, sperm in a
semen sample). So much of conceiving a child is dependent upon the production
of a sufficient amount of healthy, strong sperm that can successfully
make the journey to a womanís egg in order to fertilize it.

There are many ways to naturally
improve sperm quality and quantity. For instance, many studies have
shown that the quality of sperm can be improved with the use of antioxidants,
such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Selenium. One natural supplement that
targets menís ejaculatory functions is Volume Pills. This product has
a trademarked formula that includes Momordica and Amla, two powerful
sources of Vitamin C. Volume Pills are the only product of its type on
the market that contains the ingredient L-Arginine. A lack of the nonessential
amino acid arginine in the diet is known to decrease sperm count in
adult males.

Another ingredient, unique
to the Volume Pills formula, is zinc. An essential mineral to the body,
a deficiency in zinc is associated with hypogonadism, or impaired gonad
function, in males. Zinc has proven important in the metabolism of testosterone,
which also plays a key role in sexual health. The unique ingredients
in Volume Pills work together to increase the quality and quantity of
sperm, resulting in increased chances of successful conception.

What is Erectile Dysfunction?

What is Erectile Dysfunction?

When a phrase is used in excess
by advertisers, the meaning of the phrase can become lost in the vast
sea of marketing. The name of the product and the condition the product
allegedly treats is where advertisers place most of their efforts when
building ad campaigns. All too often, advertisers overlook the actual
condition and symptoms of the condition, to the misfortune of consumers.

In the realm of penis health,
ads for products like Viagra and Cialis are a perfect example of how
the use of a phrase by advertisers can almost make a condition synonymous
with the medication. During these productsí commercials, or even in
paper ads, the symptoms are rarely mentioned, however much focus is
placed on ìenhancingî natural assets with their specific product.
This being the case, consumers must take a closer look at what ìerectile
dysfunction
î is, how to identify if this is an issue you are experiencing,
and what can be done to correct the problem.

First, it is important to understand
what the condition is. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is also known as impotence,
and refers to the inability to achieve, or sustain, an erection suitable
for pleasurable sexual activity. Erectile dysfunction does not refer
to a lack of sexual desire (libido), problems with ejaculation, or orgasm
issues, which are different maladies altogether. Erectile dysfunction
varies in severity from sufferer to sufferer, with some men able to
sustain only brief erections, some having inconsistency in their ability
to achieve erections, and still others who experience a complete incapability
of achieving erections.

There are four basic physiological
requirements for achieving and maintaining erections, including a healthy
nervous system, healthy arteries in and around the penis, healthy smooth
muscle and fibrous tissue within the penis, and adequate levels of nitric
oxide in the penis. Other causes of erectile dysfunction include the
normal aging process, diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular
diseases, smoking cigarettes, nerve or spinal cord injury, substance
abuse, low levels of testosterone, depression and anxiety, as well as
many medications, whose side effects include erectile dysfunction.

Due to the sensitive nature
of erectile dysfunction, many men choose not to discuss the issue with
their physician, making it difficult to know how many men are affected
by the condition, however it is estimated that 30 million men in America
are afflicted with ED. Erectile dysfunction can be diagnosed by a healthcare
professional by examining patient history, with physical and psychosocial
examinations, as well as with laboratory and other physiological tests.

Treatments available for ED
include monitoring medications being taken that may impair erectile
function
, increased exercise, quitting smoking, oral supplements or
medications, intra-urethral suppositories, intra-cavernosal injections,
devices, prostheses, and psychotherapy. There are many erectile dysfunction
treatments
to choose from, including herbal remedies, which contain
ingredients used by many civilizations and proven to work for centuries.

Natural Penis Enlargement vs. Penis Pumps

Thursday, May 25th, 2006
Natural Penis Enlargement vs. Penis Pumps

Other than weighting, which has been used for centuries and is not
technically an “invention”, pumps were the first devices invented by
man with the specific purpose of enlarging the penis. Invented in the
early 1900’s, the first vacuum penis pump consisted of a metal or glass
tube and vacuum, and was prescribed by doctors for impotency. In the
mid-1970’s, an English doctor devised a plastic tube system, and since
then, the penis pump has been modified to improve ease of use, comfort
of use, vacuum pressure regulation, and improve overall safety by
adding quick-release features. The
penis pump has maintained its
popularity
since its inception, however as with any product, caution must be taken
and serious consideration must be given to the side effects or hazards
associated with its usage.

As previously mentioned, a penis pump consists of a vacuum mechanism and a tube or cylinder,
which is usually made of plastic. The penis is inserted into the
cylinder, the vacuum removes any air trapped in the cylinder with the
penis, and disallows any additional air from being drawn into the
cylinder with the penis. It based on the theory that the pressure
caused by the vacuum pump will stretch the spongy tissues of the
Corpora cavernosa in the penis, thereby allowing more blood to flow to
the penis, resulting in more quality erections as well as permanent
penile length and girth gains
. But not all theories are correct or
safe. Under the pressure of mild to extreme suction, any part of the
body’s tissue is susceptible to ecchymosis, or ruptured blood vessels,
caused by the escape of blood into the body’s tissues, and marked by
skin discoloration. Ruptured blood vessels are, in essence, internal
bleeding, however minor a form of it. Although the rupturing is
localized in the penis and blood vessels heal with time, the prolonged
use of vacuum penis pumps may lead to long-term injury, including
impotence.

Prevention of new blood flow through the penis, or any body part, for
an extended amount of time can starve oxygen-dependent cells and lead
to cell death. Because the device does not distinguish between tissue
cells and nerve cells, usage of the penis pump has a tendency to
desensitize the penis. As mentioned prior, the device is
pressure-driven, which means the recommended level of applied pressure
for the device is not always safe for each person. Since many devices
are designed poorly, have unclear instructions, or no instructions at
all, the level of risk is
elevated and
sometimes
makes the devices highly hazardous. And
despite the claim that results from using penis pumps are permanent, on
the contrary, the results are quite temporary. Although the pump does
allow the chambers of the penis to become more engorged with blood
during its use, the moment the device is shut off, the results will
quickly diminish.

There are less hazardous and more
natural ways of assisting with enhancing assets, without having to rely
on a “machine” to determine what enough pressure is to increase penis
size. One such way is the
Penis Health Program. The program utilizes the same principles as the
pump, but delivers them to the consumer in exercise form. Exercise is
one of the safest, most natural, and effective methods of enhancement
to any body part, including the penis. Again, before you purchase a
vacuum penis pump device, please seriously consider all the facts.

Controlling Premature Ejaculation - It Can Be Accomplished

Controlling Premature Ejaculation
ñ It Can Be Accomplished

Premature ejaculation refers to ejaculation that occurs shortly before,
or soon after, vaginal penetration of the penis. It is the most common
type of sexual dysfunction men experience, and an estimated 30% of all
men suffer with the condition. The phrase ìpremature ejaculationî
applies to each sufferer of the condition uniquely. In many cases, the
causes of premature ejaculation are psychological factors, so the word
premature is subjective in that the desired timing of each manís orgasm,
and subsequent ejaculation, varies widely from person to person. The
ejaculation is considered premature because it occurs before a man desires
it to.

Premature ejaculation is characterized
by a lack of ability to control ejaculation, can result in unsatisfying
sexual encounters, and can lead to feelings of guilt, depression, and
low self esteem.

Factors that can increase the
risk of premature ejaculation include taking certain medications, anxiety,
level of attraction to a sexual partner, past traumatic sexual events,
and nerve and spinal cord injury.

Several combatants against
premature ejaculation are to discontinue any behavior that increases
your risk, find ways to relax including exercise (exercise reduces anxiety,
which in turn reduces risk), and get to know yourself. A major component
of premature ejaculation is recognizing the urge to ejaculate, and learning
to control that urge. As with all muscles, pelvic muscles can react
in what may seem like an involuntary manner, but in reality, they can
be trained to react when the mind and body work together to control
them.

Penis exercises, such as Kegels
or those contains within the Penis Health website, can help regain control
over premature ejaculation. These exercises are designed to help you
focus on that region of your body mentally, and to strengthen the genital
region by stimulating and, literally, working the muscles out. The exercises
target ejaculation control for people at the beginner, advanced, and
intermediate levels. Treating premature ejaculation takes courage, determination,
and dedication, all of which will be rewarded with not having to suffer
from premature ejaculation anymore.

Erectile Dysfunction: What choices are out there?

Erectile Dysfunction: What choices are out there?

Despite years of progress and accumulated changes in the world view of
each generation, it is safe to say that sexual dysfunctions are still a
sensitive issue for men. Shame and embarrassment made sexual
dysfunction a taboo subject in polite company for a long time, which
gave it a prominent position in the urban legends and endorsed dozens
of folk remedies of doubtful effectiveness. Modern times have brought a
certain change of attitude, but the issue is still a touchy one and
best left alone. The launching of Viagra in the ë90s and the huge
marketing campaign has shed some light on erectile dysfunction, since
men who found a solution in these pills are no longer ashamed to admit
their past problems.

Erectile dysfunctions have both physiological and psychological causes.
Many such causes are medically reversible, others are not. Any
condition that interferes with the flow of blood through the body is
bound to have a negative impact on a manís sex life. Diabetes is a good
example of a disease hampering blood flow, as are kidney diseases,
chronic alcoholism and multiple sclerosis. Men suffering from heart
conditions or high blood pressure know that the drugs they take to
avoid strokes are detrimental to what is known as a healthy sex life.
Physical injury to the penis, spinal cord, prostate, bladder, pelvis or
the nerves and arteries ear the penis and which are responsible for
erections can be a factor causing erectile dysfunction.

On the psychological side, depression and the drugs associated with it
interfere with erections. The same goes for feelings of anxiety,
insecurity, low self-esteem and shame. Stress is another major cause of
temporary erectile dysfunction, especially in todayís world. A history
of erectile dysfunction also triggers patterns of depression and
inadequacy that lead to further sexual failures. All these
physiological and psychological problems are compounded by vices. Heavy
consumption of alcohol, tobacco or drugs is extremely bad for the
cardiovascular system. Tobacco clogs the arteries and disrupts the flow
of blood, while alcohol consumption makes it harder for a man to
achieve both erection and orgasm.

Since the issue is very sensitive, it is impossible to know how many
men suffer from this dysfunction. It has been estimated that about 5
percent of 40-year-old men and 25 percent of 65-year-old men suffer
from erectile dysfunction. The first major step to treating erectile
dysfunction is to acknowledge the problem and to seek help. The second
major step is to identify which approach suits the patient best. If the
problem stems from feelings of depression and stress, then the patient
should turn for a while to a life of relaxation, physical activity and
socializing. Going to the gym or running in the park is a wonderful way
to drive depression away because of both the physical exertion and
socializing components involved. Working out is also a good way to
strengthen the cardiovascular system and improve blood flow.

If the cause is a disease that hinders the flow of blood, doctors are
likely to consider the use of vacuum devices or surgically implanted
prostheses in order to achieve erection. People suffering from diabetes
have few other options and have to turn to devices. But most people can
get by with drugs that promote the flow of blood to the penis. Viagra,
Levitra and Cialis are already famous for their effects, although men
suffering from heart conditions should see a physician before touching
the stuff. Other pills, like ProSolution Pills, or ProEnhance Transdermal Patches, a
re less radical in
approach, but nearly as effective as the three brands mentioned above.
Those who like a natural solution that has the advantage of
originality, can also try penis exercises, like those made popular by
the Penis Health program, to stimulate the flow of blood without any
drugs or devices.

Medical Devices: Safety,
Efficacy and Commitment

When considering the use of
any medical device, it is important to consider the reliability and
reputation of the product manufacturer. As with any product we purchase,
as consumers we have the basic expectation that the manufacturer has
done their research, and is offering only the safest, highest possible
quality product for our situation, especially in the case of medical
products. We also expect customer support, if we experience any issues
with the product. This is not always true. Many manufacturers have only
their bank accounts in mind when creating a product, and their marketing
teams oversell the results of the productís usage, never disclaiming
how they arrived at the conclusion that the product is the safest, most
effective, highest quality way to treat our ailments.

Andro Medical, the manufacturer
of the SizeGenetics traction device, is a medical company extremely
dedicated to the health and safety of, and provides the highest quality
products and service to, its customers. The SizeGenetics penile traction
device
is successfully used to correct penile curvatures, as pre- or
post-surgical treatment, and to increase penis size.

Developed by Dr. Eduardo A
Gomez de Diego, prominent Urologist (male urinary tract and sexual organ
professional), Andrologist (male sexual health professional) and General
Manager of the Andromedical Clinic in Madrid, Spain, the SizeGenetics
device
has been thoroughly researched and tested prior to being released
to the public to ensure the safety, efficacy and quality of the product.
Doctors at the Andrology Medical Center in Milan, Italy have researched
and tested the SizeGenetics device in conjunction with researchers at
San Paolo Hospital at the University of Milan, Italy. Research participants
using the SizeGenetics device were studied over the course of 24 weeks,
and the device was proven effective in increasing penis size by an average
of almost 30%, as well as for correcting penile curvatures.

The SizeGenetics device is
produced with the highest quality medical standards (UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000),
and Andro Medicalís commitment to the safety and satisfaction of their
customers is further proven by the classification of the SizeGenetics
device
as a Type 1 Medical Device by European Union Health Authorities,
and by the European CE Health Certification it carries, represented
by the CE symbol. Only medical parts of the highest quality, proven
suitable for continuous contact with human tissue, are used to produce
the SizeGenetics device.

A companyís reputation should
be a consideration in determining the use of any product. Andro Medicalís
SizeGenetics traction device is recommended to millions of men by thousands
of doctors and medical professionals worldwide, with successful results.
SizeGenetics has an extraordinary track record, and is approved by the
originator of the Kegel exercise, Dr. Arnold Kegel. Scientific studies
published in the International Journal of Impotence Research reported
no side effects resulting from the use of the SizeGenetics device, and The
International Journal of Andrology noted that several of the key researchers
in the development of SizeGenetics are successfully utilizing SizeGenetics
to treat penile curvatures and to increase penis size. Scientific information
presented at the 2nd annual Conference on Aesthetic Medicine
reported working with the SizeGenetics device is a vital step prior
to surgery for correcting penile issues.
